The Jordanian Ministry of Water and Irrigation, funded by USAID, is offering a series of courses in Water Demand Management during the academic year 2004. The courses can be taken as stand-alone; or for certification if a thematic series is completed; or as leading towards a Master’s degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), with the addition of courses taught by JUST faculty. Each course is the equivalent of a 3 credit graduate course and is team-taught by faculty from US Universities, JUST, and experienced practitioners. Â
This invaluable series is intended for water practitioners’ planners, academics, program managers, utility managers and others working in the field of Water Demand Management. For those in the Middle East/North Africa region and from other dry areas of the world, it serves to consolidate the most up-to-date research, theory and practice in the field. Each thematic area has three courses. All three courses together serve to provide certification. The duration of all courses is 2 weeks. The first course in each thematic area is the same—an Introduction to Demand Management, and is offered twice.   Â
* Participants are free to bring with them data from their own countries to use as part of their practicum training.Â
